Într-o zi, negustorul a primit o veste îngrozitoare, vapoarele lui se pierduserã într-o furtuna si trebuia sã mai salveze ce putea.A plecat la drum iar la întoarcere se rãtacise prin padure ajungând la un castel, a primit mâncare si a dormit peste noapte , dimineața la plecare a muĺțumit si a rupt un trandafir pentru Frumoasa, Bestia s-a supãrat iar el a promis ca o sã aduca pe Frumoasa la castel în schimbul vietii lui.
